Farner-Bocken now carrying Ruyan products!

April 22, 2009 at 2:35 am (Uncategorized)

Mega-tobacco distributor Farner-Bocken has added the Ruyan Jazz E-cigarette and the Ruyan Vegas E-cigar to their catalog.  If you have a store serviced by Farner-Bocken, ask your rep about getting these amazing new products in your store

Tobacco taxes and smoking bans are having a real impact on smokers out there, and they are looking for alternatives.  Make sure your store can give it to them.  If your favorite store doesn’t currently carry e-cigs, or is still carrying the rechargeable kind, tell them to look into Ruyan disposable e-cigarettes and e-cigars.  With no tobacco, there’s no tobacco tax.  With no smoke, you can use them anywhere.
You can order one today at smokees.com, or ask your local c-store to start stocking them.

Slate.com – E-cigarette Review

April 7, 2009 at 3:14 am (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , )

Although I found the slate.com article interesting in it’s perspective, I also found it odd that a non-smoker was reviewing e-cigarettes.

In my experience, I have found most people to be very receptive and even amazed when I explain the electronic cigarette. Most people’s exact words are “wow – what a great idea!” or “where can I get one” (you can get one at smokees.com, in case you’re one of those people). Yes, a couple people have asked me to put it away, afraid that other customers in the bar will think that someone else is being allowed to smoke when they aren’t. But for the most part, the response is overwhelmingly positive.

Now, it’s unfortunate that she was discussing a Smoking Everywhere knock-off. They have been all over the news and have been making false claims all over the media in the past couple of months. You cannot say that this is a “healthy alternative” to smoking. You cannot say that this will help you quit smoking. Nobody has the tests to back that up (even if it happens to be true) – the FDA requires extensive testing and documentation before you can make claims like that.

I’d like to supply her with a Ruyan Jazz disposable e-cigarette and see what her take on that product is.

Cigarette Tax Takes a Hike Today

April 1, 2009 at 9:41 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , )

The average cost of a pack of cigarettes jumped 61 cents a pack today thanks to the new tobacco tax law taking effect. If you haven’t looked into e-cigarettes, it’s time. With no tobacco, the tax hike doesn’t apply to them. They also produce NO second-hand smoke, contain NO tar or carcinogens, and are legal to use ANYWHERE, even places with smoking bans. If you’re tired of paying through the nose to get your fix, or just want to be able to have your cigarette without being hassled to go outside, electronic cigarettes might be exactly what you’ve been waiting for. More people pissing off the FDA!

March 28, 2009 at 2:44 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , )

Yes, more and more companies are rising up and claiming that their e-cigarettes are a ‘healthy’ alternative to cigarettes and that their product will help you quit smoking. These things may not be entirely inaccurate, but what they are doing is pissing off the one organization that could put make the entire industry come to a screeching halt.

The FDA requires 6 years of testing to prove that it works and is safe before any product can be submitted as a smoking cessation device or claim that it is healthy.

In the meantime people like Smoking Everywhere, GreenSmokes, Smoke51, etc. are boldly making these claims and giving the rest of us a bad rap.

Now, maybe the FDA will do the right thing and just come down on the people making these claims, and maybe they’ll just say F’ it and ban e-cigarettes entirely.

Ruyan, the worldwide patent holder on the atomizer technology used in all of these e-cigarettes out there, is in the process of suing companies making false claims and will soon be prosecuting these people for flat-out patent infringement. They’ve already won in China, the US is next. Ruyan has done the testing. Ruyan knows that their products ARE safe and they know what is in their products. Have you ever wondered how some of these e-cigarettes have gotten so inexpensive in the last year? These companies have taken Ruyan’s product, found Chinese factories that would make a similar (but far inferior) product using cheaper parts (industrial batteries vs. consumer batteries, aluminum atomizers vs. stainless, etc.) and skipped the testing phase (it’s expensive to do safety tests!), and this means a potentially dangerous, poor quality end product. And THAT is why the FDA is pissed.
